BBC NEWS | World | Asia-Pacific | China defends internet regulation

BBC NEWS | World | Asia-Pacific | China defends internet regulation: "China defends internet regulation" The media freedom in China has been a popular topic due to Google's recent comprise and US congress's concern. Besides internet censorship issue, there's also news about Chinese news paper "Ice Point" has been prohibited from publishing. I heard this morning from radio about the result of the "Ice point" episode. The ban has been lifted with a condition the chief editor can't reseume his job at the press. The commentor said that the result shows the power of public opinion finally overides the political control of the media. My question is if the media is under such heavy controled, how do we know the result is not pre-arranged by the political power? We should not be so optomistic when there's no transparency of what has been controlled.
